How to properly and entirely erase a SSD

I've had really good luck using Parted Magic to secure erase before a clean install. ATTO scores are very nice afterwards.

When using HDDErase I noticed there were two or three "options" for the erase procedure.

Does anyone know the difference between the options?

Yea, I'm wondering about that too. There are 3 options:

1. Secure erase
2. Enhanced secure erase
3. Exit

I'm curious about what enhanced secure erase does and how it is different from regular secure erase.

The Intel X25-M supports this enhanced secure erase feature, but I was afraid of breaking my drive so I just went for the regular one, which turned out successful.

The difference is you don't get a happy ending with regular secure erase. :awe:
