how to print white text onto black paper?

my roommate is wanting to print white text on black paper and can't get MS word to do it. Anyone know how he could accomplish this?

Are you using a color cartridge? Black ink can't print white letters.
 
You're a fvcking idiot if you think that you're going to print white text with black ink. If you want to print in white, you need white ink. I don't know of a single consumer level printer that has white ink cartridges available. If you want to do it with your average home printer, you're going to use white paper and saturate everything that's not text with black ink.

And about the color cartridge: That gives you Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow inks. It does not give you white.

And why the hell is this in Software?
 
You would have to get a special cartridge that contains white ink.

White is the absence of color, therefore color cartridges will not work.

Then you would be best to define the output font color as white and the background as black.

A couple of clues on getting around the problem or why the problem exist

light-wise, white is ALL colors, and black is the absence of colors. isnt that the way it goes? pigments probably work differently.

In the real world white is the full spectrum, black is the absent of light.

In the printing world, the exact opposite is true.

That is why some cheapo printers come with only a color cartrige. They use all three colors to manufature a sick black whne/if a black cartridge is unavailable.

If you are dealing with light only, then yes. If you are referring to why something is a certain color, like a shirt, or a piece of paper, it's the other way. Black materials absorb all light and white materials reflect it.

Make the background black. Make the font color white. The printer will just print the background leaving you with "white" text.

That's the only way to do it, and it'll cost you a fortune in ink.

Bwahahahaha! I was thinking the same thing when I read this.

 
To save a bit on ink, use a laserprinter, toner is definetly better than wet ink here. it is impossible to print white with any consumer printer. to save money and maybe utilize the black paper you have already bought, nicely write the text using a corrector pen (tipp-ex or whatever brand you prefer) or simple white paint. (make sure it covers enough, I know tipp-ex does but you will need oil paint to paint white, water paint will not cover enough I think)

Yellow won't work either. Get this through your heads. COLOR PRINTER INK IS MEANT TO WORK SPECIFICALLY WITH WHITE PAPER ONLY. IF YOUR TRY TO PRINT ON BLACK PAPER ALL YOU WILL GET IS WET BLACK PAPER. If you print on colored paper the colors will all come out wrong. Yes you can print black/grey scale text on colored paper no problem, but the same does not hold true for color. ALL CONSUMER COLOR PRINTERS ARE MADE TO PRINT ON WHITE PAPER.

But please don't stop posting idiotic suggestions, their funny as heck.
 
I think you should hunt up an old color cartridge and fill it with white-out. My friend did this and it worked perfectly.

I'm serious.

Post pics of your results plz.
