how to prevent shrinkage?

I use a twist tie everytime I go for a swim in cold water. Warm water isn't usually a problema and often has the reverse affect. Sometimes I put a little fishing weight on the twist tie for extra support.

Oh, and to the OP: Cold wash, line dry. None of my shirts (dress) go in the dryer. My newer/better tshirts don't either. Jeans/socks/drawers in the dryer. Everything else pretty much, hang dry.
