How to prepare Hard drive

ok i'm kind of new to this stuff, so here goes

i got an IBM 20gb hard drive, and i want to split it into 3 separate partitions... is this what i do?

1) boot up with win98 boot disk

2) fdisk and create partitions ( 3 drives)

3) format all 3 partitions separately

4) install operating system

is this all correct? please give any advice or suggestions

Yup, u got the idea. The process would be a bit complicated when u try to create 3 partition using ur boot disk.

If u can go to IBM sites and see if they have any disk utilities software that can help u format and partition ur hard disk.

I've western digital hard disk and i used western digital disk utilities software to help me. It simplifies the work a lot. I think Maxtor drive has this kinda software too.
