"how to play basketball site" (skills and such)

I'm a pretty good shooter, though that's all I'm pretty good at. I'm going to start running and working out again to help with endurance, strength, etc. I play mostly on the wing (2 or 3). I need to work on my inside game and rebounding, as well as ball-handling and quickness. I don't expect to ever be "good," but just serviceable. I figure, if I get better, I'll have a lot more fun, which means more playing, which means better health, on top of the fun.

how tall are you?

rebounding is really a matter of positioning and desire. when you play pick up at the gym or rec center, people are usually lazy about boxing out for rebounds. if you make an effort to box out everytime, your odds of getting the rebound increases quite a bit. remember to get your feet in front of theirs first. that'll put you good position, rather than trying to use your arms or body to get in front of them first.

conditioning is also very important. since none of us are in the NBA, not many people are in top shape whenever you play. having energy when your defender is dog tired will help out tremendously. whenever i see my defender tired and breathing hard, it gives me a jolt and pushes me run around even more :D

One of the best ways (I learned this from an ex-pro player and basketball coach). While jogging practice dribbling with both hands. For example run a mile and dribble with the left, run another mile and use the right hand. Do this everyday for a month and you'll see remarkable improvement. Always dribble with your head up and looking forward, I've notice some guys tend to look down when moving with the ball. This handicaps your ability to pass and make good shot selections.

Spoken like a true athlete. Personally I know I'll never be as good as a pro ball player but desire and conditioning makes a HUGE difference
