How to 'pin' paper and not staple clip it....

alkemyst

No Lifer
Someone bitched here about there professor not wanting clips and required assignments to be pinned.

The way to pin paper is with a stapler and turning the anvil to the 'legs out' postion.

The staple will then just slide out of the paper when you want to remove it.

if you press the switch towards the back you can open up the stapler to staple things to walls 😛

you can also staple things to people, or people to walls. the possibilities are virtually limitless!

Let's see....

lol, I only discovered that function of staplers sometime last month. I was fascinated by the outward pointing legs, but couldn't really think of a reason why anyone would want to use it. OP claims that the staple just slides out, but it doesn't seem to come out any easier for me.. It's just slightly more dangerous with the sharp legs sticking outward rather than tucked in on themselves.

I would use this "pin" feature if I hated the person I was stapling papers together for..

edit: no, I'm stupid.. that's a lot easier than the other way. Still, the potential for a minor puncture wound seems too great.

you have to pull the leg sideways from the back...also you don't want to do a deathgrip on the stapler.

Should slide right out of the paper.

I'm confused, I answered this in the last thread, so what is the point of this thread again?

Didn't see that answer, didn't know what thread that was when I made this one.

He had a lot more posts than that before on his previous account. So maybe he did post in every single thread

2 threads and I'm left wondering - wtf is wrong with a staple remover?

way too complicated for some

I can never find any when I need them, I just use my fingers. Staples are TOO EASY to remove, and the TA was whining; that's like complaining about having to open a soda can.
