how to over clock speed of cpu? thanks.

cpu: a64 3200+ 939
MB: assus 8n5x
ram: Patriot Signature Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Timing: 2.5-3-3-7
Voltage: 2.6V

You don't mention what processor, and other details like the motherboard type, memory, etc., are also relevant. Start here. That's a guide to overclocking the Athlon 64. If you have an Intel, some of the same principles will apply, but not all.

It isn't a simple matter of turning up the clock rate. You need to control several factors in concert and understand their effects on the system.

Oh my god ... help !!

i just set cpu speed to 220Mhz
after that the pc cant access to windows (cant boot)
even i use the default setting. now my pc cant boot
one of parts is dead?

LMAO!!! I am sorry. Try clearing the cmos and unplugging the power cord from the back of the power supply.

You should be able to get more than 10% gain. Have you read Zebo's Quick and Dirty Guide to OCing??? Read it and you'll know what your doing.

Just oced my 2800+ as far as I could go and didnt have 1 problem. If using DDR400 RAM, just set your divider to 166 first, then keep upping your "fsb". If you hit 250, after that you should set your divider to 133 and lower your HT to 3x. Keep going and if you get to more than 300 "fsb", set your divider to 100 and keep going. I love this cpu I just got, Semprons are the KING of value man. 800MHz overclock, outperforming chips 2x its cost easily. Best 75 bux i've spent this year so far.
