Hello, I have Pulse on my phone and it's a great app but I don't really know how I can organize the recipes I've gotten from websites. It'd be nice to print them out or at least have them in a perfectly organized way that I can edit easily(so this rules out PDFs). I don't mind printing them so if someone has a template that they're using, I'd appreciate it if you'd share it with me. Also, I thought of using onenote but I'm not really that knowledgeable about it.

But whether it's organizing online or printed, please let me know what you guys do! Thank you so much. :D

I don't have recipes, however, I do have a shitton of CDs and DVDs. I put them on media storage shelves and put them in alphabetical order by title.

My mom and my grandma have recipes on index cards in a box ...
My girlfriend uses her mom's recipes, and her mom has recipes in a cookbook binder thingy.

Turn in your man card :colbert:

Don't have to, I'm a girl :awe:

And alright, thanks, pepperplate looks great but I'm kinda worried that I might not be able to export it to a file or something to carry with me if I'm gonna travel. I mean not like it's of any importance but I might go where my cooking skills are required, kidding.

one note or evernote.

i use one note since i have office, and sync it to my skydrive so my phone/tablet can get to anything i put in one note. use it some for recipes...loads for school, work and other personal data.

I don't want to sound like a shill so I'll stop after this one, but if you're srs about cooking pepperplate is game changer. OneNote/Evernote is SHIT for recipes compared to this.

you can export anything you put in one note as a PDF or print it out.

re pepperplate: i'll look into it. i dont really deal with recipes a huge amount, even though i cook a lot, but i organize everything i can in one note so naturally i just keep recipes there, too.

i also dont hunt online for recipes very often, so maybe if you do that a lot its nice?

Pepperplate takes it to the next level. If you have 8 items and add them all to a menu, the menu tabulates all the supplies that you need and adds it to your shopping list.

then you whip out your phone as you walk around in the supermarket and check off the items. WIN

if you don't need to make the entire recipe, pepperplate will scale the recipe down for you. WIN

yes, it is A LOT more useful if you look for recipes online, but I still use it to track other recipes for the above mentioned reasons.

All the app really needs is the ability to take a picture directly from the app to append to the recipe.

Yes I just started out saving all these recipes w/c is why I'm trying to figure out how to organize them.

Ns1, I love the fact that you can just import the recipes via URL. I'm completely sold! thank you so much.

the auto addition of items is nice, not something i care about enough to add another layer of stuff to deal with, but i can see that being pretty handy.

when i cook its usually with leftovers in mind or a group of people, so scaling down is sort of a non issue.

the thing that does look neat is the multiple timer feature, i can see that being handy if you have a lot you are trying to manage as one person, but its still not something that would do me much good.

i appreciate what it can do, i just sort of...already covered my needs without it, and im very much on the "use technology all you can" bandwagon.

Fair enough, I mean if you're already vested in OneNote/EverNote then you're already IN DA CLOUD.

yeah thats kinda the thing. if i wasnt already id probably jump on it, it looks very nifty.

i might try and get my friends to use it because they have some weird addiction to their ipads and im tired of them using paper, especially in the kitchen.

oh my god, I was without the iPad for 3 weeks while waiting for the iPad 3 to arrive. HOLY SHIT we had to make dinner and I was like WTF DO I DO? I NEED TO PRINT THIS RECIPE?!?! It was so comically primitive

print a recipe? you son of a...

can you easily add your own recipes to it? im not interested in signing up to fuck with it, but if adding your own is easy i might finally get these people away from paper for good. i watched a demo video and just saw someone importing recipes from websites and using a calendar to plan meals, but dont think he added his own

copy/paste away and it figures out the rest. It's essentially the same process as importing a recipe from an unsupported site...

the only limitation (for me) is the picture. You have to take the picture before uploading it to the recipe - you can't do it directly from the app.

I figure you can add a recipe you already have documented in as little as...9 clicks and no typing other than ctrl+c/ctrl+v

Hi guys, so yeah I just went through my saved articles on Pulse but lots aren't supported yet with Pepperplate. Kinda sad about that but it's not really a big deal, just me being lazy with the manual input thing lol. But overall, it's such a good site <3.
