How to open the hood of a Honda CRV from the outside.

So I'm intstalling a deck in my CRV for the first time and I disconnet the negative terminal from the battery and shut the hood. I didn't realize that the latch to release the hood is powered and since the battery is disconnected, I can't open the hood. Any help would be appreciated

Powered hood latch?? Wow. That's absolutely retarded. WTF are you supposed to do when your battery dies or there's some other electrical problem?

Look in the manual. There's probably some way to override it in emergencies - at least I would hope so.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing! But then I realized I was the retarded one. I was actually seeing the switch for the rear window release, which is right above the hood release

I don't have a Honda, but I did this on my Taurus, I was smashing the truck release button thinking it was for the hood. The sad thing I even got on my knees and looked and still thought it was the hood button. Lesson learned = I'm not a car person :D

:D OK, that makes more sense. I didn't think any car company would be stupid enough to design a hood release that required electrical power. Although the hatch on my Trans Am won't shut without electric power (not the same, but still). It's quite annoying when you pull the battery out and then go to get something out of the back - and then find out the hard way your hatch won't close.
