What is going to prove? You beat up a out of shape guy.

Be the better man and ignore it. I'm sure he is just jealous and would run away if you ever confronted him.

BTW, body builders don't always mean they are good fighters. Phil Baroni was junior bodybuilding champion and lost to Matt Lindland at UFC 41 who is older than him. Baroni can punch too, but Matt Lindland took him down and outclass him.

If you want to do some mental torture, then the best way is to not fight him. He won't get a chance to fight you, and that will just mentally screw him up. Trust me, this works.

I'm ignoring the reasons you want to fight because you are an idiot, but anyway here's some advice.
Your high-intensity cardio means jack squat in a real fight.
Once you are in fight or flight mode, I give you at most 2 minutes of actual fighting before you can barely breath, if the fight lasts that long.. If you end up wrestling you will wear yourself out within 30 seconds unless you know what you are doing. Finish the fight at all costs.
You should plan on getting hit in the face, especially if this guy is bragging that he can fight. Maybe you'll get lucky and he's all talk, but expect the worst unless you really know his background. Your attitude should be extremely confident with good reason, you have a lot of advantages... Don't suckerpunch the guy or it'll be pointless and he'll whine about getting jumped by a pansy later on... you'd be better off getting this guy to meet you at a gym in a controlled environment... you could get easily killed landing wrong on a curb and vice versa. You will go to jail if you are a moron about this.

What you say about High Intensity Cardio is BS
it does matter as he'll be able to throw more punches etc...

Have you ever wrestled ? Not fake wrestling but real wrestling, if you did you'd know how important cardio is.

lol, that's hilarious. We have another "I'll rip your arms off"-er on our hands. If you're going to fight him and think you're so much better than him, make it a fair fight (let him know it's coming). As for your head, just stay confident and channel Paul Walker from F&F ("I'm going to win. I'm going to win.")

^_^

I think that was the funniest thread I had ever read. :D

Thanks, it feels good to be recognized. :)

You are missing my point entirely. A cardio workout IN NO WAY simulates an adrenalin rush scenario like a fight. I've never been a "real wrestler" but I know what street wrestling is like. When he asks for advice about wrestling for college I'm not going to post, but I know what I'm talking about here... when 2 180lb retards are rolling around on the ground for a minute, you never see the winner get up and look eagerly for the next guy. he typically collapses shortly after the fight. What I'm saying is that wrestling in a streetfight will kill almost anyone's stamina instantly. 2 points: you use different muscles (stabilizing) wrestling and you use your major muscles differently for the most part. I know cops that have this problem all the time, they train and workout all the time, but when they have 1on1 wrestle a resisting guy until he's subdued, they stand up and have to take off their vests because they can't breath.

Wow, most sad thread I've seen in a week or two. One guy who doesn't know how to fight and a handful of guys acting high and mighty because they (probably) were too scared to defend themselves when they were younger and now try to pawn off weakness as virtue. Awesome.

Anyway, first rule of fighting is this. If you have to ask how to do it on a message board you'll lose. Unless you're fighting the Pope or something and even then it'd be a close fight. Seriously though, don't bother. This can't possibly end well for you.

Oh, and you also seem to share a common misconception that I've seen among most everyone who's never really been in a fight. That misconception is the one where you think size and strength matters. I've been in my fair share of fights (never started one though) and seen my fair share also. In all those fights that I've seen and been in I've only seen two guys that I'd never ever want to fight. Of those two guys I had at least 4 inches and 30 pounds on each of them. I'm 6'3" 205 and in pretty damn good shape btw.

So, to sum it up, just leave it alone.

I council a close "younger" friend of mine who gets in alot of fights, that he really needs to consider the possibilities of both serious harm coming to himself or the other person and the probable legal consequences. He has a rep that he gained in high school, where he hit some guy harm enough to cause him to fall to ground unconscious and bleeding from his ear that was on the opposite side of his head from the big punch. He was suspended from school and placed on probation for that incident. He still gets challenged all the time and sometimes when the other person goes to far (like going after his girlfriend) he blows his cool and he has a very big punch (5'10" and 220 and moves like he is a much lighter man) and usually knocks the other person out with one punch. Has left several people flopping on the ground in seizure like activity (means a heavy concussion) and has been very lucky that these other people would of been shamed (by the other hangout kids) if they had pressed charges. The point I am trying to make is this, those people recovered - but this won't happen everytime. My kempo teacher made it very clear that there is no safe way to knock someone out as it always involves some level of brain damage to achieve, so attempting to do so needs to be done only in emergency situations.

Be a man and just ignore the guy, you have nothing to prove about your manhood to him. I only fight when cornered (no way out physically), defending someone who can't fight back, defending loved ones from harm (words hurt no one unless you already feel bad about yourself) or defending my country (not sure I would fight to defend oil rights or something stupid like that though).

If you just can't get out of it (as it would damage your pride to severely - actually in my book a very poor reason as your pride in yourself should be based on the good things you do and not on your ability to do harm), then I suggest you arrange some time in a boxing gym or karate dojo and use some kind of gloves to "prove" yourself to this older braggart who feels he still has something to prove.

here's some advice from a martial artist...

Stay confident - fear is nothing more than a response for self-preservation. Once you accept that you are gonna fight, then the act is more clear. Inaddition to this confidence is very intimitidating.... I've fought with many people bigger than me, who backed off the instant I got in their face. Come on hard, and fast. The better you are at this, the faster your opponent will retreat to fear.

How you fight is up to you, I personally don't know you, but just be sure to watch your back and stay aware. Look at the people around you and know what can be used as a weapon *just in case.

Confidence, awareness, and select the place to make your mark dark. Don't get out of control, I've stopped plenty of fights by with one punch (usually in the ribs or the face). Choice wise ribs are better because they are softer as opposed to the bones in the skull. You might not have to break a few ribs, but even a good shot there will not allow that person to stand up straight, and the rest is your advantage.

Fights usually stop when the person feels (duh) beaten, Pain is usually the force that they can't ignore that makes them feel beaten. Therefore, move quick, hard, and uninhibited. All it takes is one hard shot where he can't fight normally, then it is over. Depending on how strong he is and how strong you are, it might take a few more. Small weaker shots are not good because it gives time for the person to recover and it builds their adrenaline.

Good luck.

Actually wrestling and street fight is quite similar as once the two 180lb ish guys go at it, they're gonna be grasping and rolling around.
Yes there is an adrenaline rush, but your ability to maintain the energy and such comes from the cardio work out.
I've been in several fights and I know several people that have been in several fights before and after wrestling for a year or so, and they all agree wrestling helps you last.

Most fights I would assume won't last more than 3 min, hell if it lasts 2 min I'd be surprised. Most people would be out of breath at like 30 sec into the fight, but a person with good cardio traning can go probably the full 2-3 min.

it's like getting flash pumped. if you wanna last, you gotta do cardio right before, like mins before the fight. then your body is ready for a long fight.

Swing first, stun him on the first hit..

He might not even want to fight after that..

And like the LEgend said, you better be able to take a shot of to..

I'm saying that his cardio is going to be effectively useless because rarely uses his muscles like he will when wrestling. If this guy wrestled or trained in a martial art I'd give him some muscle endurance, but his muscles will fail just like the other guy's. for the most part they will be used completely differently than the weight training motions he's used to. If the other guy has any experience under his belt I'd bet on him. and size really doesn't matter (to an extent).

This is not H.S. You don't call him out. You walk up to him and beat him relentlessly until he isn't fighting back. Leave him bleeding on the ground
and tell him not to get up until you?re gone or you'll pound him some more. Then follow through if need be. Sure. You could go to jail but they can't
keep you forever unless you kill him. If you do the crime blah blah blah. Sound too violent for you then maybe you should re think this. Experience
gives him an edge so take any advantage you can get. Fight like your fighting for your life cause you may be. Have I made my point yet?
I think you should re consider
