How to mask my IP? Or make it so that no one can see my IP?

I'm thinking of using IRC again, but I want to make my IP unvisible to other users. I would also like to mask my IP when I use other programs that people can see my IP.

I'm using a router, if that helps any.

But seriously, it's damn near impossible unless you use a proxy server for everything, and all the software is compatible with it.

when browsing the web, use The Anonymizer .. for IRC.. uhm.. dunno

Find and IRC server that supports cloaking.. Like Slashnet.. Using their server software and turning on cloaking ("/mode username +z&quot, my hostname shows up as cloaked.bellsouth.net. Only IRCops can see my real IP. Pretty nifty. There are some servers that put gibberish into the hostname automatically, so it would show up as 492dbds92.atl.bellsouth.net or something like that.
