Question How to map a network drive to a folder instead of a letter

I found the information before but can't seem to find it again. I want to change some of my network drives from letters to folders in Windows 7. How do I do that? I found a Disk Management method but Disk Management only shows local drives.

Just go to the \\x.x.x.x\folder and then drag it onto your favorites on the left side.

net use \\\server\"your shared folder"
mklink /d "C:\Users\Admin\"some folder" \\\server\"your shared folder"

You have to run the above commands in a CMD (Command Prompt) window.

Possibly the net use command may be unnecessary.

Browse to the folder, right click-->send to-->desktop
