Hey. I've created some work forms with Infopath 2007. Then I published them on sharepoint, and sent the links in emails.

When you click the email links (a link to an .xml file), Internet Explorer always asks to "Download" and "Open w/ Infopath".

How can I make it so Internet Explorer 7 automatically just displays the .xml file in the browser. This works on firefox but not IE for some reason.

Thanks.

You can create a custom association for an extension to an application.

Go to "My Computer" --> "Tools" --> "Folder Options" --> "File Types" tab --> Click on "New" and type in "XML" and click "OK" --> Scroll down to "XML" extension and click on "Change..." to change file type association.

Hope this works. Good luck!

You probably need to look into InfoPath Forms Services. You can configure SharePoint to open forms in IE instead of attempting to download/open them in InfoPath. I believe you need at least MOSS standard for this.
