Is there any way to make Google Chrome 86 x64 (in Windows 10) stop constantly saving my browsing history??

I don't want Google to know what I've been looking for.

(it used to be easy to disable browsing history and saved tabs in Chrome...now it's next to impossible....)

Seriously? I'll have to look at this. I seldom use Chrome, prefer FF, but this seems odd that they would lock down their browser as it would be a security risk. That alone would get me to stop using it.

also i believe u can go here:

and it should be under
Clear cookies and site data when you quit Chrome

It does under the Linux version--just checked. But I have not checked recently for Windows.

It also records the data in your Google account, so you have to disable it there as well. In your Google account, go to Privacy and Personalization >> Activity Controls >> Web and App Activity. Unselect the "Include Chrome history and activity from sites, apps, and devices that use Google services", delete the existing data, then use the switch to turn off the feature which will pause it.

While you are in there, you can also take the opportunity to turn everything else off and delete the existing data under all the other categories if you want.

I do not have a Google account. I do have a handful of Gmail mailboxes but I never sign into Chrome. I think I have one Gmail credential set just for YT, though.
