Does anyone know the tool I need to get for this?

Basically the carpet is not 100% flat. It has little pockets in some areas.

it needs to be restretched. rent a carpet stretcher.

The edge will probably need to be trimmed after it's stretched.

this IS Aimster....not likely he's going to do it.

? You don't know me..wtf
Somebody stole the wheels but left the tires alone?

You need to stretch it. You can get a tool which is essentially knee pads with some other stuff so you can stretch and trim at the same time.

Looks like I need to cut the edges after I stretch it. This doesn't make sense to me...

When they originally installed it I am assuming it was flat. Where is the extra carpet coming from?

It stretched. The carpet is only tacked down around the edges.

What is really happening is your house is contracting. A great deal of substandard lumber has been unscrupulously sold throughout this country which shrinks over time. Given time smaller structures like closets can disappear completely.
