How to make a web site popular?

Ok, put yourself in this situation. You start a brand new spunky web site and you want to get as many hits/views as possible. How would you go about publishing your web site to the rest of the world?

Your ideas below please.

I'm just asking.

Ok, lets change the ball game a little and try and answer this too..
I'm already a part of a popular web site BlargOC, how would I promote it as well.

NUDE PICS OF BRITTANY SPEARS OF COURSE!!!!

j/k....like advertise or something? And put content on it that doesn't suck....

If the site is really good, it should spread from person to person by word of mouth. ie: Napster.

You might want to start with search engine submit, with good choice of keywords. There are many sites devoted to this , just search for "Search engine optimization."

You might try to find relevant sites that you can submit your link to.

And of course, add your site to your forum & email signatures, any profiles, and whereever else you may go on the 'net.

If you have the money, you can buy banner space on sites.. of course, you would really have to know what you're doing.

ADVERTISE IN UR PROFILE LIKE ME! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

howesey - you need to try something that will get attention - something like you climbing into oven and lighting it up and showing it via webcam... I'd go to your website to see that...

post again when you do this...

Haha...

NO! 😀

I'm actually thinking of a new stratagy for BlargOC, perhaps interviews to the big buffs of big companies (got to be careful I dont get there PA's) and maybe software reviews. Software should be easy for companies as the cost per unit (CDs) is a lot less then sending a web site a 3D card for example. Just a question, is there a real demand for software reviews and interviews?

Do you not realize how difficult it is to post on ATOT from within a confined space? 😀
