Hi all, I would like to learn Spanish without the rush and without spending a lot of money.
I want to become fluent (in writing, reading, and conversation) in it.
I am 19, my native language is Russian, and it took me about 3 years to become fluent in English.
I searched, and threads I found were not addressing my exact criteria.
I live in Texas and have plenty of Spanish to practice my skills with.
Thanks in advance!

Talked to counselor. She said auditing a class is a bad idea since I am not going to work as hard if there is no grade - and if I do work hard, I might as well get a grade. Plus Spanish on transcript looks really good.
There are two really basic Spanish classes: Conversational Spanish and Beginner's Spanish.
Conversational does not really count for anything. Basic Spanish can be used as a substitute for required elective - SPEECH class. So I get to learn language AND get credit in class I need!
Now, I'll take Beginner's Spanish, for credit, in the Fall 2008. She recommended not to take it during summer semester, because it is too much material to be compressed in only 10 weeks.
(I also learned my CC has two summer semesters, Summer I and Summer II. I can take a max of 2 classes during each summer semester.)
Until then, I'll learn language by means other than taking a class.
Cliffs:
-will take class for credit in fall
-other means to learn it till then
