How to know if a motherboard won't post because of RAM?

Just got a second am3 motherboard. this time 890gx instead of a 785 chipset. the 785 wouldn't boot due to not having the latest bios to accept the amd 1055t cpu.

The 890 i got stated that it was 6 core cpu ready. Yet it behaves just like the previous 785. stays on but the monitor has an orange light instead of a green light.

Plug a PC speaker to the headers on the motherboard to see if you hear an error code beep.

A LOT of issues like that are because people do not plug in the 4pin PSU header! Beep codes are a guideline but if you know what you are doing they are incidental to solving problems. A bad mobo is not good and not always easy to eliminate as the fault.

seems that asrock board either worked like a dream or sucked balls, based on other ppls reviews, i'm leaning toward that you just got a shitty board, rma it and the new one should work awesome
