How to kill your career: L'Oreal sacks transgender model after comments on white people

The "model" in question should write a book on how to torpedo your own career. Let's start with these little snippets:

“Honestly I don’t have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people.”

"Because most of ya'll don't even realise or refuse to acknowledge that your existence, privilege and success as a race is built on the backs, blood and death of people of colour. Your entire existence is drenched in racism. From micro-aggressions to terrorism, you guys built the blueprint for this s***."

Moved from OT.

This answers the question: How bad does a black transgender need to fuck up to get fired from anything? I would have bet that taking a machete to a busload of puppies and orphans would get a 2 week suspension at most.

She's right though. The whole existence of white people in this country is based on the subjugation of non-whites (especially blacks) over the past 400 years. As white people living in a country built off of the subjugation of non-whites, it is our duty to understand the results of that history and how it affects personal interactions with non-whites today.

That is true. I just dont think it productive to throw the blame around cause if we do we just get to go round 4000 of this bs instead of just accepting equal rights for eeeveryone... What I am saying is that in a way blacks are to blame for the idiots in the white hoods too cause we the same damn DNA anyway - add that to the sins of the father and all that.

How do people get this stupid?

She is kind of right though, even if maybe not in quite the way she means it. Racism and its accompanying ideologies are absolutely central to the creation of the modern world. It's why there is such a category as 'white people'. It created the rules for who qualifies for that category and what the effects of so qualifying are,

Without it US culture and politics in particular would be entirely different. So we are indeed steeped in it, and in it's consequences. It helped make us what we are, whether we like it or not. The ideas of dead generations sit on the minds of the living like a nightmare.

She didn't have to be so mean about pointing it out though, dammit.

Because "she" is hideous. It is my understanding that models should be attractive.

Models should increase sales of the product. That's all that matters. It's called capitalism - perhaps you've heard of it?

And why the churlish inverted commas? (I would never claim to understand transexuality, but it's never appealed to me to be vicious to people for the sake of it). And what's with the egotistical belief that it matters who you find attractive or that anyone cares?

Is she right about this part too?

Honestly I don’t have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people

See, I just knew all Muslims, I mean, white people are violent because some of them are.

I see no point in defending this kind of hypocritical drivel.

Uh transgender model, what an abomination. Good job L'Oreal, these people need to get professional help, not encouraged in their derangement.

Please keep your abominable bigotry to yourself.

Well, I can't say I could imagine her and me ever being best buddies. Something tells me that would be distinctly unlikely. But do I feel catastrophically hurt or threatened by her comment? Not really.

I guess I'm just not as sensitive as you are.

You might want to lay off the transphobia. Irrational hatred doesn't do you any good.

He's not asking if you're hurt by what she said but if you think what she said is correct. It isn't and she shouldn't be able to say it freely without warranted backlash.

Oh, did I hurt your feelings, trans guy? While I don't have anything against gays/lesbi or bi, I do find transgender people simply disgusting.

The less they are enabled, the better.

I see you've learned nothing. Take some time off to reconsider your posting habits here.

I already gave my opinion on that topic. As for 'backlash' - feel free to join a snowstorm of your fellow snowflakes. I don't really give a toss, myself.
