Chop his head off with a machette and bury him in your flower garden. No one's gonna know.

So... you want to kill an inocent bird that follows its instincts just because your urban upbringing has taught you that grass should be two inches high and no more. All I can say is 'wow!'

Do you realize that it is you who's encroaching the birds' natural habitat?

A few years ago, a South Carolina university professor had casually remarked to me she's never seen a pig in her entire life. That's just great.

Leave the bird in peace. Let it hatch its eggs. Watch the goslings. See how the family ewvolves and they migrate. Then you can go and mow the lawn, and destroy the nest, so that they won't return to it, and next year you can just keep an eye out and make sure they don't come back. If you have kids, thay can watch, and get a real lesson about nature. Even if you don't have kids, you can just hang around and have a beer while watching the little birds learning to swim and to fly.

Anything else and you're less than human.

As for the rest of you advocating things like Seltzer... I hope you never have to find yourself or a loved one in a situation where you're dying in pain - like in a car accident - and you get surrounded by morons who can only laugh and point at you.

Umm, he provided a way for this gentleman to get rid of his problem. You, on the other hand, didn't provide any way to get rid of them, so therefore I got to say, "You're fired".

KK

Why did I not provide a way? Probably because these animals are protected in many areas and he must research his area and their regulations.

Call animal control and see what they recommend. It's not right to kill a bird just for defending its young.

I gotta agree here ... let the bird go, use it as an excuse for not mowing your lawn as much. And it is cool to see baby ducks or geese around. Especially if you have kids.

And if it attacks you ... christ, it's just a goose. Eventually it will tolerate you if you give it some space around the nest. (speaking form experience).

You can't kill them, it's illegal...unless you have a permit, and/or they're it's their hunting season. MBTA ;)

Edit: Hell, you can't even kill a fvcking pigeon without it being illegal, as they are technically migratory birds.

Geese are obnoxious, foul, stubborn, aggressive birds. They don't get much sympathy from me. I don't agree with feeding them alkaseltzer, but I wouldn't lose much sleep over chasing them away.

1. Call Animal control, try to get them removed. Pester whoever answers the phone until it happens.
2. If that's no good, buy/get/rent/steal a dog to harass the goose.
3. If the goose is still around, put out a bowl of antifreeze.

And let's make sure we are all on the same page here - geese are PROLIFIC crappers. We're not talking a pile here and there.

Think slimy green turds. They are like giant pigeons here and won't even get out of the way when you are driving or walking. It looks like a battlezone after they leave an area.
