Cayenne pepper. I had a problem with a cat jumping on my car in the work parking garage. Put a circle of pepper around my car, and the problem went away :) Put a bit on the screen and they will stop.

I'm considering this. Maybe some cayenne and a little water sprayed on the screen.

My kitten has taken to climbing the door screens and clawing the edges of the window screens. I've considering replacing them with pet screen, but he actually frees the mesh from the spline on the windows. Did anyone have success deterring this behavior?

Replace the screen with heavy duty pet screen material.

But how will this stop them from tearing the spline out?

I've got a fairly big dog who runs into my screen all the time. And I have 4 cats that love to hang on it chasing bugs in the evening. I've yet to replace my screen after 4 years of abuse.

I have 3 cats that are outdoor cats. They like to climb on the screen. Especially if they are not happy with what I gave them for dinner.

They are just out of the kitten stage so they are playful and will chase each other up the screen. If I yell at them or tap on the glass they get down, but that isn't the best solution because they are slowly ruining the screen.

Some of the advice about the screens and stuff is good but the best free and non pain the balls trick is just to get a squirt bottle and give them squirts while you make it clear to them you are pissed. After a few times they will get it. Cats + water= not happy cat.

Nice trio of colors!

Yeah, they really surprised me. I was expecting them to look like their mother, but instead they picked a color each off the mother.

Cool! The female I got last fall looks just like that. It's really neat and I'd never seen anything like it. It's funny because she's the runt of the litter and her brother is a perfectly stripped orange like one of your kittens but he's ENORMOUS!

They don't seem to play with our screens so I can't offer any help there. Good luck!

That reminds me. When we disciplined the cat I had growing up, we'd put just a little bit of lemon juice in a spray bottle. Not only do they hate having to clean the spray off of themselves, it's just a little bit sour too! That might work.

get a window tint made in the pattern of a screen and take off the real screen. set up a camera and film them trying to climb the not-screen.

This has been my experience. I've all but given up. I still yell at them when they get on the screen, but it's just a game. I yell at them(mostly the girl), and she gets down until there's another fun looking moth on the screen. I've resigned myself to the reality that I'll just have to replace the screen when necessary :^D

Well its been 7 months since I posted this, and eventually what worked was the stare. Every time they climbed the screen I would walk up to the door and lock eyes with them, until they turned their head away and jumped down. They haven't tried to climb the screen now in months.

Suggested by someone because cats and eye contact is a big deal with them.

I thought our cat was unique. She did that to our bedroom window. Took a while for us to figure it out - we'd put her outside, an hour later she'd scratch on the bedroom door for someone to let her out of the bedroom. For the longest time, we just assumed she got back into the house when one of the kids came in the door and she managed to get into the bedroom when someone had the door open.
