How to join Vista beta program without paying $$?

Microsoft either made a mistake, or (much more likely) you are in a special beta program. It most certainly did not "go public" in any normal fashion, as you have been told in the other thread already.

OK, if you have MSDN you should already be running Beta 2.

If you don't have MSDN, you probably signed up for the MS Technet crap, which is effectively everyone else in this world who cares to run Vista..

You can't get it for free YET.. unless you resorted to illegal measures.

Actually you can.. the beta for Vista Media Center and XBOX360 compatiblility started yesterday... got accepted and dloading the beta...

still not sure If i want to do this on my main box..

does Vista Dual Boot yet? and if not are any games working on it yet?

Huh? What is that? When i connected my Vista laptop to my home network, it automatically detected my 360 and configured my laptop and 360 together (i just had to enter in the key that was displayed on my 360 into my laptop). This was last week.

They are rolling the full blown Vista Media center edition with the new connect version 3 to a new group of testers..

Yes, but keep the install disc handy. Vista does not use Boot.ini. You must run an app in the system directory to switch the boot settings. I would recommend that you set your legacy OS as the default in the system configuration the first time you get it running for a better level of comfort.
