How to install Windows Onecare on Vista from retail version 1.1

i own a retail boxed copy of OneCare, purchased a couple of months ago and have not yet even opened. I assume this is version 1.1, and the box does not list Vista as a supported OS. So can I use this retail boxed software with Vista? And if so, how? Do I need to download 1.5, install it, and then use the key that came with the boxed software? Or ...

Thanks.

You definitely need 1.5, it's the only version that works on Vista. You should be able to use your 1.1 key, but I'm not totally sure on that.

Yeah, I figured that...So can anyone confirm firsthand that you can use the serial from a 1.1 retail box to install 1.5?

I would tell you to contact ms customer service and ask them about it. I bought one care today but it was 1.5 in the hard plastic retail packaging and it works great on my 3 vista machines. I figured that it was the safest bet right now since it was made by ms.

I bought One Care at Office Max. I had the trial already on my machiine. I used the key on the purchased version to validate my trial and update it to paid. The CD has never been in my computer. I have since upgraded to 1.5. Download the 1.5 version and validate it with you 1.1 key.
