It's like this:

I was on the ECCp-109 project and since it ended I've switched my main rig (XP 1900+) to Folding@Home and I showed another AnandTech teammate (Myth from the ECCp-109 project as well) what his options were to replace ECCp on his Duron 1300 MHz.

He chose D2OL and I downloaded the client and it doesn't start.

Anyone can explain me how can I install the client on this machine.

Thanks

What messages do you get? What OS? Did you try downloading it again just in case the first one was corrupt? I've now installed it 16 times and it hasn't hiccuped once :)

The OS is Windows XP Home Editon (no-SP1), here's the steps I took

- I followed the instructions from here;
- Downloaded and saved the file to the HD;
- Double-clicked on the icon installD2OL;
- Chose the path where I wanted to expand the files;

and then nothing else happened.

I searched in the folder that the installer created and found 1 .exe double-clicked on it and it didn't do anything at all.

Downloaded the D2OL client once more time and repeated these steps above and the same end result.

That's pretty bizarre... Did you try a reboot and then attempt the install just in case there is something in memory? On the last few that I installed, I didn't even bother saving to disk..just did an Open from the download dialogue box and ran it that way.

I didn't reboot, my guess is that XP is also a ROOS (Reboot Orientated Operating System) ;)

I'll try that on monday to see if it works, if not Myth has to choose another DC project.

Inside the folder where you installed it (sengent) there should be another folder called D2OL and the exe is inside there.
