Hello all!
my rig runs a score of 3dmark06 = 8160
I am looking to get some help on this. I was hoping that the video crad would improve my FPS. = 65 in IL2:1946.
It is the only thing I use this rig for and I am hoping the expert hese can help.
I have the nVidia driver 169.25 installed as this is the one reccemended by the forums I have asked.

I am going to wait till later this year to improve what I think is the bottleneck here... the CPU. This MoBo is socket 939 and the max that I can get is an FX-60 (or so I believe), or an Operton 185.

I am not sure if overclocking will help the system as it is.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

I would think that your cpu is indeed the bottle neck and not the card, also sames 3markd06 isn't a video game it doesn't mean a damn imo. The only real solution would be to upgrade your cpu but for the price that would take you could just upgrade the memory, cpu, motherboard to a c2d/c2q or am2 socket based system.

I guess your score is normal. With my 8800 GT overclocked and with a brisbane 4000+ X2 at 2,9 GHZ I score 10125 in 3d mark2006.

Like you've said, the cpu is holding you back a lot. Overclock it and your performance will increase. I guess 2,7 ghz on that 4200 is attainable. Also, if you plan to upgrade your cpu, getting a socket 939 chip is a waste of money.

3dmark does not reflect actual game performance. That one particular game is likely limited by your cpu if you didn't see much improvement from a 8800gt, but the majority of newer games are mostly limited by the video card.

to rid yourself of the bottleneck, move the Resolution up, add some AA and AF, get the flack taken off your CPU and onto the GPU instead.

basically 1024x768 will cripple the cpu so that the 8800 is waiting.

take it over 1280x1024 and you should see things looking better.

Hello All!
I did as SnioerDaws suggested and now I see about 80 FPS in the sim
S! Sniperdaws Thank you much...
Is it worth it to OC this rig? and most of all how???
I tried to up the base freq and got to 2.333Ghz and then BSOD...
There are many option in the BIOS on this board but I would hate to fry anything...
I have limited experience doing OC.. I did get an Athlon 2800 Barton to go to 2.XXGhz but that was easy with the board I used...

Thank you all for your patience and advice
