how to improve my wireless ??

I'm looking for a way to really improve my wireless signal. I bought a brand new Belkin N1 Vision router.

My problem is that I have a larger house. 3 levels. Also outside in my garage I have a loft which is where I do alot of working and repairing on things.

Out in the loft is where I really have the most trouble. The signal is very week. I had a linksys repeater in the past with my old linksys router and I hated it. It didn't improve much for me.

Anyone have a suggestion for me?

Where is the wireless router located? Should be on the top floor...

laptops or desktops? If they're desktops, use a PCI adapter with an upgraded antenna. (Dlink makes a good/cheap one)

Its in my basement because thats where most the computer, game playing goes on. Plus I wouldn't want to run ethernet cables from top floor to basement for printers, computers w/o wireless cards etc.
