How to image a hdd with Nero

Ok, I have Nero 5.5.7.8, and I want to be able to make a bootable image of my hdd, sort of like a restore disk. Plus this image will span multiple disks, my hdd has 1.6 gig used. Anyone know how to do this?

Norton Ghost is made for this. Or must you use Nero? I don't even know if that's possible.

I don't think you can do this either. You may be getting confused by the Nero DriveImage included in the new version but this only allows you to look at the contents of an image.

Ghost won't allow you to boot from an image either.

Actually, I wonder what would happen if you did a drive image to CD with Ghost. I don't know if that would work, never tried.

According to the manual for Ghost 2002 you can create a bootable CD with the image.

Ulfwald, head over to www.directdeals.com and pick up a copy of Ghost for cheap. That's what I did and it works great.

It says a lot about bootable cd but it is usually talking about a cd that will boot to dos and load Ghost in order to restore the image. Are you sure you can actually boot to windows from an image? Can you link us to where you saw this?

From Ulfwald : sort of like a restore disk.

That's what I was referring to, not that you can boot to the OS from the image.

OOOOOOO
I'm trying to answer questions and assumed he was trying to do something out of the ordinary. He is just trying to use Ghost. He needs to RTFM. LOL
