I have some older ram I want to know what it is. How can i tell just by looking at it? Is there a way?

I have a stick that doesn't seem to be on the list. It has a gold sticker that says M2M PC 133 256MB on one side, and on the other is a white label that says "Patent Applied For", a barcode, and "C012210682 Warranty Sticker". There are 16 chips, 8 on each side. Most of the chips themselves have the following markings:
M2M 08 WR 14
Z USA
16MX4T1 0131

Some of the chips have variants like "08 WR 59", some have "08 WR 58", and at least one has this:
M2M 07 W Y 87
Z USA
16MX8T1 128

The stick fails memtst 3.0 in 3 different machines. I was wondering who made it, and if it had a lifetime warranty. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance. Fishhawk.

Looks like you are SOL.. I can't make sense of any of those figures.. it must be one of of those generic RAMs = crappy.

If you install the ram, Aida32 should give the chip manufacturer.

jmagg, thanks for the hint to try Aida32. Pretty nice tool. Told me the following about the stick:

Micron Tech. (256MB PC133 SDRAM)
Module Name: Micron Tech.
Highest CAS Latency 3.0 (7.5ns @133Mhz)
.
. more stuff
.
Company Name: Micron Technology, Inc.

Sure doesn't look like Micron memory. No Micron markings at all on it. Fishhawk
