How to identifix dead CPU ? PIV3.4 GH PRESCOT.

hi guys, can you tell me what's the signs if CPU gone?
I bought it from TIGERDIRECT just CPU and ZALMAN 120mm Fan
3 months ago, will TIGER replace it ot INTEL? (how if PIV 3.4 GH isn't in stock?)

Easiest way is to try the CPU on a different, but compatiable and functional system. Of course if you don't have an access to a different system, it's not exactly the easist. What kinda beep are you getting from the mobo? (Check the on-board speaker jumper is set "on") If the CPU is a problem, the system will either
1. not turn on at all
2. system turns on and fans/HDDs powers on but no beep and no video or
3. No.2 plus several short beeps (like 4~5 times)

You should really give more detailed information (especially what you did before the system went down) and remember that CPU is usually the last thing that dies. Also, Tiger won't replace a dead CPU after 3 months of its sale, unless you purchased their warranty. (if they have one)

Here is the symptoms:
Was playing game and monitor screen got black, turn off PC by the
emergency button ...and can't turn it on agaen, just MOB light is on and
when pressing power button fans(case+CPU) moves litle bit.
First think was PSU, was going to RMA and one sec just for any case took
it off and swithed on second PC---WORKS!!!!(PSU).
Now i have the problem: what the hell is it?
Made minimal BOOT with same components-0 result.
Changed Graphic card-0.
Chnged Memory -0.
Chaanged Lit.battery and reseted the MOB-0.
Changed Power BTn connection wire by another-0.
Changed CPU+FAN from working PC-0 results.

Spekers giving the sound on start, mouse and keyboard are on.

What else i can try more?

PC: PIV 3.4 GH PRESCOT w/ZALMAN 120 mm CU fan.
Cooler Master eXTREME 6ooW PSU(under warranty)
2 GIG CORSAIR TWINS memory.(lifetime)
SOYO SYP4I865PE Plus Dragon 2 v1.0(waranty?-2 years passed. ????)
ATI RADEON 9800 PRO
WD HDD's 40GiG+160GiG

Idk I would try to contact intel did you get this chip OEM?

yes, i guess , i bought Just the CPU(w/out fan) and with it ZALMAN CPU Fan 120mm.

If the board gives you one short beep at the boot, I can assure you that it's not the CPU. Try clearing CMOS.

no beeps at all, just speaker does "BOOMP", MOB light is on and CPU+case fans moving a bit.
I used another CPU from second working PC on thise MOB and it has same symptoms.
when i placed PIV 3.4 GH on that PC everything works: CPU+case fans, VGA but no
display image, i guess it doesn't supports 3.4 gh, i tryed to upgrade BIOS on it but i got
message: Chipset/Flash part isn't available. The function will be invalid(SY-P4RC350).

PS:Thanks man agaen, MOB gone and CPU is alive. (tested in PC store)
Your recommendation: try to fix thise MOB SY-P4I865PE Plus Dragon2 v1.0(people sad 99% of thise version boards are JUNK) or
buy ASUS P4P800SE, if it supports PIV 3.4 GH PRESCOT(has great reviews)?
