How to I take a folder that has XP in it and make it a bootable disc?

I have a disc from school that has XP on it and everything is in a folder burnt to a disc. My pc will not run this when I restart and try to boot from the disc. Also, the option to install is not available when I try to open the folder in Vista beta.

I swear on my life it is a copy of a student xp that we can check out from the library at school.

If its a legit CD, then there should be several folders on the root of the CD, if you have only one, then someone either didnt burn it correctly or they copied the windows files from a running PC, which isnt good either.

Ok what exactly do I copy into those folders? Just select everything on my disc and copy, then put into that folder?

Copy the i386 folder, plus the files Win51, and Win51IP to a folder on your hard drive, say WINXPCD. Now you need to use CDIMAGE (download and directions here to make a bootable ISO image that you can burn to a CD. I assume that the Windows CD key you will need during install is located in the XP code folder?

If you are going to persue this I would also download and integrate XP service pack 2 first since this appears to be an old version of XP without any service packs (files Win51IP.sp1 or Win51IP.sp2 are not present). If you do this you will also get another file Win51IP.sp2, so that in your WinXPCD folder you will have the i386 folder, plus the files Win51, Win51IP, and WIN51IP.sp2. Now use CDImage to make your ISO.

If it's a legit cd than talk to your schools book store or whatever about how they expect you to use it to install XP.

Everything in the screenshot you posted should be on the root of the CD. The bootable image file referenced in the link I posted needs to be referenced in Nero's burning settings, but it does not to be included on the CD.
