How to get your Ricemobile into the 14's with NO forced induction!

hehehe might as well pull out the drive train and mount it all in a steel tube frame
 
basically, they just made a heavy go-cart.


i'm sure they could have cut up even more of the frame to make it lighter (they just need it to last 1/4 anyways)

they could have taken off the brakes, or at least the rear brakes (we're trying to go fast, not stop)

taken the airbag out of the steering wheel

and probably more stuff too...

and then shaped some hood or something out of Foil or plastic to give the car some aerodynamic properties
 
I remember Hot Rod Magazine doing something like this years ago with a huge boat of a car. It was some GM product with a 455 engine. I can't remember the final 1/4 mile time though.

they did take out the air bag. by the look of the picture.

man... i'd love to just spend a day doing this. 🙂

only if i had my own garage.
 
I saw this link a few weeks ago and was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the thread title.
