How to get your econobox into the 14's-A must read. - Nissan Sentra TopLess

"This makes the engine extremely loud and, as you know, noise equals power."

LOL.

That is why ricers are so stupid.

If you think that is funny, you need to check out some older HotRod Magazine articles like:

CaddyHack
PontiHack

I think there was a Ford one too.

Thats my fav too... so many a ricer and redneck have no clue how backpressure works 😉

the entire article was a parody of ricers. It was pretty funny. You should read some of the Q&As they have on SportCompact Car magazine. They really rip up the dumb readers. Oh and they have great technical articles as well.

What, are you going to say that you need backpressure for low-end torque?

LOL, no man that extra noise is like a pulse detonation propulsion for your car 😉

Yeah, that was hilarious 😉 I'll have to take peek in one next time I go to the grocery store 😉

I don't think you want any backpressure.. isn't a straight pipe going to give you the best power numbers at any rpm?

If there is backpressure, that means the engine is using energy to push the exhaust gasses out, and that is bad. 😛

Backpressure (on streetable cars) is necessary to stop reversion or at least used to an advantage.

I also have trouble understanding the "backpressure" issue. I'd think that tuned headers with no mufflers would produce the most power out of any given engine.

Is there a site that I could visit that explains all this?
Thanks!

No backpressure means more horsepower yes - at the expense of some low end torque.
