I think my home network supports 100MBps, but it only runs at 10. Any way to tell it to run at the higher speed? Or does my network not support it? (My hub has lights that tell how fast each NIC can go, and they are all on 10/100) Is it a problem with the wires? Thanks

Ones a 3com 3C905 (i think), and i forget the other. But they are both 10/100, the hubs 100 light is on. Plus i wouldnt buy anything less. Are there any settings i have to set up? Or does the NIC automaticly transmit at the max? Thanks

What Operating System(s) are you running? You should be able to look somewhere in your network connectoids prop sheet and make sure 100MB is enabled.

Your NICs have to be running at Full-Duplex and the hub has to be a 10/100 hub. Also CAT5 class cable.

It's a 10/100 hub and CAT5 cable. About the full duplex: How do you set that? Or is it different for every card? Thanks for the help

If the 100 light is on then you have link pulse at 100 Megabit and are running at 100.

If it is a hub then half duplex is all you can do on the NIC, a switch should support 100/full. Set your NICS to auto/auto and see what it picks up with your NIC control panel or double click adapter under net control panel.

cheers

You shouldn't have to run full duplex to get the 100. You can only run full duplex on a switch, but there are 10/100 hubs out there. So, that doesn't make any sense.

Try setting the NIC's to 100-half in the NIC properties.
