Just installed WinXP on an AT-based mobo/case set-up. How do I get the screen to appear that says it's "okay to shut off" the system after it powers down?

Most likely removed since the Win98 days. Possibly disable ACPI in the BIOS and in Device Manager.

Edit: Wait a second. What kind of motherboard are you running in an AT case?

I have XP Pro on an AT box and the "It is safe..." works fine when I tell it to shut down.

I can't provide any help for you, just letting you know there is such an XP screen.

Poontos: The mobo is a Gigabyte GA-5AA w/a K6-2 chip at 400MHz and 256MB of SDRAM. Thanks for confirming my suspicions, woodie1. (I was sure the screen had to be there somewhere.) Disabling ACPI in the bios and Device Manager sounds like a step in the right direction. I'm at work now but I'll try that when I get home later this morning.
