How to get Serial ATA in RAID

Depends on the kind of RAID you're looking for. Some motherboards like the IS7 only support RAID 0. The IC7 supports RAID 0 or 1. There are no integrated SATA RAID 5 controllers that I'm aware of.
 
no need for a special software raid card. just do software raid in software instead of in proprietary drivers.
