Yeah, I've heard the mint extract works. I might get some of that since it probably smells better then fox piss.

I wouldn't put it indoors, but it's not really noticeable to me outside. I just sprinkled it around the entire base of the building and especially around the basement windows/door.

wouldnt that just trap the mice in?!

As mentioned, I already have two semi useless cats. They are quite capable of catching them, its the killing they aren't so good at. I think their real calling isn't mousing, its actually destroying perfectly good carpet. At that task, they excel.

They are indoor cats though, and have so far kept the mice out of the house itself.

1. Clean up area so as to deny them habitat/nesting areas. (They love clutter, cardboard boxes, etc.)
2. Obtain feline varmint-killing machine.
3. Get digital camera and wait.
4. Repeat 1-3 as necessary
5. Post on ATOT.

So, get a useful one. My cat is quite good at hunting and killing mice. She brings home about one or two mice a week, plays with them for a few hours and then kills them.

I already said no to any more cats. I trip over them enough as is, and it'd be throwing good money after bad. The answer is not more of something that doesn't work! :p

I'm getting some peppermint oil on the way home tonight and its going to begin to smell a lot like Christmas when I get home.

the glue traps suck because the rodent will rip its skin off trying to get free. Tried those once and had to drown the thing after wrapping it in a rag.
dead rat smell inside the wall sucks too, so be careful about poison- although this may be OK if no other animals are going to eat the poisoned mouse and they are staying primarily in your garage.

PB + snap traps is what we've always used, and it works pretty well. The main thing is to not put so much PB on that they can pull a bunch of it off, there needs to be just enough to get them to tug at it.
