Got my wife a Latitude D830, she takes it to the school where she works and works from home every night too. Want to get a second AC adapter so she can have one here one there. The one that cane with it says PA-10 family, model FA90PS0-00

I see lots of online sellers, but no one matches those numbers. I google for Dell D830 adapter and get links to adapters that are "compatible with ..., D800, D810, D820" or D810, D840 or some other ALMOST fit. And yet the model number is off. The picture of the one for the D820 looks exactly the same, yet there are places that DO say theirs is for D830, and the picture is DIFFERENT. Mine is rounded on the end and that pic is square-ended.

Are these all just little details that dont matter? As long as it is 90W, and 19.5V and 4.62A and the plug looks the same, I'm OK? I just dont want to hurt the laptop, it was not cheap

Thanks anyone

It's possible there's a newer version of the power adaptor but as long as the W, A and v numbers are all the same and the plug is the same, you're absolutely fine.

You can even go higher on the amp (A) part and it will not a hurt a thing and may actually result in a cooler running adapter.
