How to get Intel Speedstep working in Win2k?

Is there a way to get Speedstep working in Win2k with my E4300? I have it working in Linux on the same system (albiet with some issues I will post about in the Linux forum), but it doesn't work in Win2k. I read something I found through google about going to Control Panel -> Power Options -> Advanced but when I go there on my Win2k there are no settings for Speedstep.

I've also read on Intel's site that Win2k supports Speedstep, but so far I haven't been able to find out how you activate it. Is there a driver or registry setting? I checked Intel's site for any software related to this and found nothing.

Thanks,

I had never heard of "Speedstep, so doing a few searches, from what i read and understand, Speedstep is only for mobile processors, used in laptops. Also, laptop manufacturers supply driver for speedstep.

Isn't speedstep regulated by chip itself, i.e. there's no need for a driver?

Depends, I think some can do it in the firmware but it's much more flexible to do it in the OS since you can have more control over how and when it changes frequency.

That's where it started but AFAIK most modern processors support some form of frequency scaling. Even my FX!60 which is certainly not a mobile chip 2 frequencies via powernow.
