I was just wondering if there was a way to get an I/O shield for my Asus K8N-E deluxe. I bought it refurb, knowing that it could be bare bone (although they generally are not), from newegg, and it wasn't included.

There used to be an option to send away for one back in the day. Any options to get one, hopefully for free?

And does it really matter if it is used without one? I suppose the problem might be with dust/debris.

No, even dust is fine, trust me. You'll get more dust from your fan intakes than the rear I/O panel.

Right. The biggest reason I would want it is because I will likely sell this setup to someone or put it in a build in the future when I upgrade...

Call Asus RMA. I bought a refurb board once and called them. I expected to have to pay but no, they just sent it to me for free.

Cool, thanks! Will call, if it doesn't work, I'll try it again!
