is there anyway to get black sharpie off a jersey?

i got it autographed at a football game but two marks were accidently left on the jersey ( not by the actual signature )

For those interested its a Santana Moss Miami Hurricanes jersey. Got it signed by him last weekend at the Skins/Rams game.

i don't wanna try any dangerous chemicals which might damage the jersey.

Dry Erase markers, I learned that here as a trick to remove Sharpie from a CD. Don't know how well it will work on cloth though.

I was @ that game too... but I don't do autographs. I used to get them at the Rams training camp(Macomb, IL is my hometown) but then I didn't know what to do with them after I got them. Now I just don't worry about it.

lacquer thinner would eventually get it out, but if there's any synthetic fabric in the jersey, it'd eat that too. Plus it might be tough to spot clean without damaging the sharpie that you don't want to remove. I think Ladies Man has the right answer.

I feel sorry for you. Nothing here but the university and WalMart. ;)

I only really wanted the auto because he is a great receiver and star player. Plus its his signature on his college jersey. I just collect personal autograph stuff. i don't sell it afterwards.

It won't help on cloth.

in my experience with sharpie and cloth, rubbing alcohol works. also try nail polish remover (acetone).

but i tried those two solvents on white cotton.

if you're using a colored synthetic, be careful.

Start with this
Sharpie FAQ

See the bottom of the FAQ and you find Amodex. You can dogpile/google it or I gave you the first link I found
Pencity sells it at $8

I have removed RED Sharpie from cream colored carpet before using Amodex Ink Stain Remover.
