"Being the fool I am, I didn't hold back and said some really nasty and out of line things."

There's your first mistake. Let it go, and maybe next time you wont let your temper get the better of you.

Well, when the stalking fails, post a thread on ATOT and sound apologetic. Present the situation so she'll know its you and her and pretend to ask for advice, then hope she reads it and think you were sincere.

😉

AIM does not show inflection in voice. AIM does not show expression. People can get pissed off easy by "talking" on it. Stop being a box, call her up and do something amazing that you probably never thought of...

APOLIGIZE.

AIM is possibly the WORST WAY EVER to conduct personal discussions.

What ever happened to just talking?

Your first mistake was chatting with her on AIM. Never get into a serious talk over AIM because it's easy to misinterpret each other and eventually get mad at one another.

So I met this girl, and we were really hitting things off. We both enjoyed each others' company, and couldn't get enough of each other. We both wanted to get more serious, but then she caught me on a bad day. I was in a horrible mood. We were chatting on AIM and our conversation led into something of a debate...a little later down the line, it was no longer friendly and we were both taking shots at each other. Being the fool I am, I didn't hold back and said some really nasty and out of line things.

From that point on, she has basically decided to ignore me, won't talk on the phone, AIM and doesn't want to see me in person. I can understand her being upset, and I know a screwed up, but now I just want to know if you guys have any ideas on what I can say or do to TRY to get her to forgive me. Yeah, I know the damage has been done...but I am optimistic.
Geeez! Your goal shouldn't be to try to get her to forgive you. Your goal should be to find out what was wrong in your behavior, demonstrate that you are remorseful about it, and you have changed. If you are truly sorry about your behavior, then don't bother. If she won't take you, then maybe she wasn't the type of person you were supposed to build a long-term relationship with. It's better sorry now than later.

However, seeing as you posted an excuse on AT, I don't think you really see what was wrong in your behavior. You shouldn't be making excuses. If you felt bad that day, it doesn't give you the authority to "spoil" someone else's day. You rather sound desperate. Relax and take a break from her. You'll have enough time to think about your behavior and how it affected your friendship. She may even soften her heart by then.

I would venture to say that you really did cross the line when you exchanged words with her that day. Although you have excuses .... so-called "reasons" for your behavior that day, she may have one principle that she follows; and it was compromised by your slip of tongue. If this is the case, well, you can only tell her how you truly feel, but she has to be willing to forgive and trust. You can't control people's responses.... You just have to demonstrate a change....

She may have decided that she wants a guy who won't ever treat her like that, no matter what the mood. I'd find yourself another girl, one who's willing to put up with your moods.

Plus he can then find a woman who won't make him put up with b1tchy moods of her own. Hey wait a minute... such a woman doesn't exist 😕 Well that's fvcked up.

Good luck with this one dude. I say cut your losses and consider why you got so pissed in the first place.

You should paraphrase the first paragraph ("said some really nasty and out of line things" part I mean) you posted here and maybe add some apologies and assure her it will never happen again. You could write a letter or maybe send it to her on AIM (like as one long message - maybe she'll read it). And don't let it happen again.

Uhhh...dude, I didn't make any excuses or offer any reasons, I merely stated what I did. I'm really kicking myself for not banging her before pissing her off. Really, I gotta get that straight: "Get some ass, THEN be an ass." 😉

Anyway, I've got other candidates on my to do list, but I hate to let a good thing go to waste. You know, it's like a fine steak dinner. Sure, you can always get another one at another restaurant, but if you already have one on a plate in front of you, might as well eat that one first, even if you have to warm it up in the microwave.
