Long story short. I had 8800GT + 8500GT with 3 monitors hooked up to them, which worked very well together with 169.21 driver under 32bit WinXP. However, I had to RMA my 8800GT so while I'm waiting to get it back, which may be a while I installed 9600GT.

So now I have 9600GT + 8500GT in my PC. In order to get 9600GT working I had to install 174.53 driver. It works fine with 9600GT. The problem is that it doesn't recognize 8500GT I have so I'm limited to two monitors now.

Question. How do I get 9600GT and 8500GT working together on the same computer? Is there a driver that works with both cards? I don't want to install second nVidia driver on the same computer, I just don't think that will end very well for me.

Anybody knows how to solve the problem? Thanks.

AFAIK, the 9 series drivers are not unified yet. If you are on XP, you should be able run a different driver on each card by manually selecting the previous driver set for the 8500GT in Device Manager.

Bad news for me I guess. I don't think installing second nvidia driver will work. All nvidia drivers use the same naming scheme, so if I'm going to install second driver installation process is probably going to overwrite 174.53 files in system/drivers folder with the 169.21. I could be wrong of course. Has anyone ever installed two nvidia drivers on the same machine? Or does anyone know when nVidian is going to unify 9 series drivers?
