How to get 7800GTX drivers loaded for my 2nd card?

Hi folks,

I am missing something simple and it's driving me crazy. Installed an EVGA 7800GTX 256 KO with the latest 8.1.9.4 drivers a couple of weeks ago. works great.

Got my 2nd identical board today, and downloaded the 8.1.9.4 drivers from EVGA.

Installed the card, it was recognized as a VGA card so, I cranked up the driver install program. It removed the drivers from my original card!

I powerfailed, came back up, ran the driver program again, and it loaded the drivers back to my original card but not the new one.

How do I get drivers loaded to the 2nd card????

thanks for the help.

Uninstall all drivers for both cards.

With both cards in, install drivers using the setup.exe

It will install drivers for both cards/

What he said. Dumb question, but have you made sure the SLI jumpers are set correctly for your motherboard?

when you execute the .exe file for the drivers it creates a file on your c drive labeled nvidia. in that folder will be the 81.94 driver. go to the device manager and select the 2nd 7800gt. select the driver tab and select update driver.
chose the advanced option- install driver from a file i specify and browse to the 81.94 folder in the nivida folder on your c drive. that will do it. i hope this helps bud. lmk if it doesn't i will keep an eye on this thread in case you have troubles

Doh! I knew it was something stupid.

selecting the card directly and updating the driver took care of it. I am told that my PC is in SLI mode whenever windows comes up, and both cards know show the 8.1.9.4 driver.

Going to run 3dmark05 again and will be looking for a higher score!!

thanks again, boy do I feel dumb.....

later....
