I'm lacking in CPU, RAM ,and HDD. How much better a HDD can I possibly get??? What HDD will be 7.9???

That SSD is a SATA II OCZ Vertex 2 120GB. Your SSD is SATA III Agility 4 - does the Vertex 2 really perform better or is your disk close to full? Sandforce drives lose a lot of performance if they're low on space.

On the topic though, I really don't think you should pay much attention to WEI. If your PC is working fine, what's the point of increasing WEI? Having a bigger number doesn't actually improve your Windows experience. It's just a number.

C Drive currently:

WEI doesn't necessarily have anything to do with maximum sequential speeds. Does anyone know what sort of a test WEI does to determine disk speed?

Yea, honestly in my educated opinion you should not use WEI to rate your performance. It is not exactly a valid method of measuring how good your performance is; it's just one of those things you want to get.

I get a 7.2 on my boot drive lol. My dads A-DATA crappy SSD gets 7.5 lol ,,,,

My rig is much faster then his, alto he has a sandy, IM talking basic stuff, I know the Sandy kills my processor....

These scores dont mean jack@@ Dont go by them to judge your rig. Whos the guy with the hexacore didnt even get a high score. Let me guess Windows 9 the WEI will go up to 10.0 and we all get 8.3 on our CPU and GPU etc LOL

Windows 8 seems to have loosened the score requirements. I was a 7.6 on Win 7 and a 7.9 across the board on Win 8 (except my SSD at 8.1).

A 512 gb Crucial M4 will get a 7.9 as well. I have that SSD with a 3770k at 4.4ghz and 16gb G.Skill ares 1600mhz Cas 10. I get 7.8 for CPU and 7.8 for memory. The rest are 7.9's. (win 7)

Is your HD set up to run in ACHI mode? Mine wasn't, I changed it and it got faster.

My scores;
7.8 (i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz No OC)
7.9 (CORSAIR Vengeance (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1866)
7.7 (Radeon HD 6850 Passive cooling)
7.7 (Same as above)
7.8 (CORSAIR GT Series 240GB)

Win 7
ASRock z68 Extreme4

My sig rig gets 7.9's except CPU which is 7.8 -- will upload pic tonight.

Mine too.

2600k + Z68 Asus Deluxe/16GB Gskill @1866 + VERTEX3 MAX IOPS.

I also have a dual vertex3 RAID 0 OS installed too. Both the MAX IOPS and the dual RAID 0 array register 7.9

As does my CPU and DDR3.

I have modest dual 6870's X2 XFX Radeon cards that also get me 7.9

My system is certainly not extreme compared to many here.

Windows experience is a joke.

Yup ACHI mode for SSD gets faster.

But he said he had an Agility. Those are slow. Cheap NAND inside.

Win 8
8.4: i7 980 6 core/12 thread @ ~4.1GHz
8.4 RAM DDR3 1600
8.1 GTX 670@ ~1240 core
8.1 ---"" ----
7.9 -> 7.8 HDD Vertex (3?) It was 7.9 and when I reran the test it dropped to 7.8 I guess it's filling up.

Work System has a Intel 330 120GB, 16GB Corsair Vengeance, i5 3470 @ 4Ghz and a wee NV GT620...which is the weakest component.

I get:
8.0
8.1
7.4
7.4
7.8
Looking at some of the other numbers I don't think the WEI system works very well. Not consistent at all.

In Windows 7 I pull 7.9 in everything but CPU, which is 7.8. The machine in my signature. No idea what it takes to get 7.9 on CPU, but even with my CPU at 5ghz it is not enough.
