Greets all,

I'm not sure if this is the right topic, but general hardware sounded the best.

How to get 5.1 sound without buying 5.1 speakers ?

I have 5.1 on my motherboard with the following ports:
1.) Front (L/R)
2.) Rear (L/R)
3.) Center/Sub

I have a 3-piece (2+sub) from Boston.
I have a 3-piece (2+sub) from Harmon Kardon

I don't really want to spend the $100+ for a 5.1 surround sound since the speakers above are good, but not sure how I can configure all of them, especially the Center/sub since the sub is on the other two.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

best you could probably get is 4.1 (4.2?)

Boston or Kardon set in front.

Boston or Kardon set in back.

Assuming they both only have one wire.

Set 1 to Front

Set 2 to Back

Could get a y splitter and double sub. or just use your best sub for your "sub" out.
