How to force tv-out on bootup

I have an old Radeon 9550 that I am running tv-out over S-video to an older SD TV. To get TV out to occur, I swap the main display with the TV (since there is no monitor in the first place, only the TV is the main display). The problem is on boot-up, it never remembers this. So I have to remotely connect to the computer and change it. If I let it hibernate, then it remembers to output to the TV and not some generic monitor it doesn't see. Is there a way to get the card to remember the TV on boot-up? How does everyone else get their HTPC running? I'm just experimenting here to see if things work, but they don't seem to be.

Thanks,
- Eli

Do you get the BIOS bootsplash at boot time? If yes, you can try disabling/uninstalling any other monitors in Device Manager.

If tv-out is the only thing hooked up, it's generally been my experience that it will swap automatically on bootup.

Yes, I think the BIOS shows up during boot-up, but it shows up on the TV. I was thinking maybe it's because it's a SD TV, so it can't recognize it? I'll try looking at what other devices are present later in the day. Thanks.
