How to force OEM setup in 98/ME

I am trying to make a ghost image of 98 and ME that will automatically redect all hardware on next boot after I have ran all the updates in windows and such..

I have seen OEM's with 98 and ME where on first boot it goes through the autodetect wizard and then the time zone and network configuration. Anyone have any clue how to make windows do this on the next reboot?

You need to get an OEM Preinstall Kit from Microsoft.

Doesn't the OEM preinstall kit only work with Windows 2000 and Windows XP?

It isn't a ghosting method but if you begin an installation (on any computer) and stop at the first restart, then when you move the drive to the target computer and boot from that hard drive, it will detect the hardware and continue the installation.

Yes, But I want to customize the OS by installing all the updates and such., which requires a full install first, then some how resetting the OS to go through the initial setup wizard again.

There were older versions for 95 and 98, but I'm not sure if they're still available. http://www.microsoft.com/oem might have more information (you'll need to register with them).

You want to slipstream. That depends on the newer Windows installer.
