I was wonding how to flash my bios using a floppy disk. I have the K8v se Deluxe and i falshed my bios a couple of weeks agp to v. 1007 and i have been having problems. I am trying to flash my bios back to the v. 1005 and the Asus Update wont let me do it. It has to be done via floppy. I know i have to make a ms-dos bootable floppy disk, and also put the version i want in the floppy. But what other application or program do i need? And what are the commands i will have to use? Please post if you have an Asus Motherboard or know exactly how do this.

THanks,

Orlando

You need the AFUDOS.exe utility from the support CD.

Or you can try Downloading the 1005 Bios to a floppy,
then rebooting pressing ALT + F2 during POST to enter
the ASUS EZ Flash updater.

I tried Updateing to the 1008 beta version they have and it has been working nice. I installed it with no problems. But when it came at night time when i shutdown my computer and turned it on just now. I still got the No Hard Disk found error. This is really annoying. I have no clue why its doing this. Can someone please help me. Or maybe point me into the direction of some pros that can help me with this.

The URL below is for the Asus BIOS forum. Hopefully you'll find an answer there. However, the main thing to learn and remember from this is not to flash the BIOS unless you know the change incorporated into the new BIOS is something you NEED. Flashing the BIOS isn't something you do routinely just because a revision has been written.

You're lucky you even got your system to boot, as v1008 beta BIOS is literally a corrupted BIOS. If you call Asus, they will tell you that. They should've removed it from their site months ago.

I've always used winflash to flash my vnf3-250 to updated bios'. Worked everytime. :p You do it from within windows and requires no floppy discs.

I wonder if the 1011 and 1015.002 beta is bad too. I had to update to at least 1011 to support a new processor update AMD 2400+ for the A7v266-e...I keep getting an error on boot ERROR: can't write ESCD. Asus has no idea why nor does anyone on the net when searching.....I need help too!
