how to flash dead bios that wont post?

Hello.
I have a mobo that wont post. is there any way to still flash the bios? Any help would be appreciated.

Reseat the video card and memory and see if it will post.

I tried that🙂. i also tried a different video card and memory but still no dice. Thanks though. I have another board but i was trying to get out of reinstalling xp.

Try resetting the CMOS, then hold the insert key when powering on.

still no dice:-( btw its a compaq mobo. Is there any other command than "insert" for compaq?

I think <F10> was the button to enter the BIOS, if that's what you're asking for.

You can also try hitting <Esc> as the computer is booting to get the prompt at the bottom of the screen to enter the BIOS if you want.

What is it that makes you think it's BIOS related by the way? A bad video card, ram, or CPU will cause it not to post as well, or a weak power supply, or a loose connection..

You could hot flash the chip off a similar board.
