How to flash Asus K8V bios?

1) download the DR-DOS boot-floppy-making utility from BootDisk.com and run it. It makes a boot floppy for you.

2) download the Zip file that contains the BIOS from Asus and extract the BIOS file from the Zip file and put it on your boot floppy too.

3) from that same site, get the Zip file that contains the AFUDOS update utility and extract the utility to your boot floppy.

4) boot from the boot floppy and at the A:\ prompt, run the AFUDOS utility like shown on page 2-4 of your manual, with the correct filename for your new BIOS.

If that isn't working then 😕. I had a K8V Deluxe for a while and I flashed it using the Windows-based utility myself.

Thanks!

I finally realized what I was doing wrong. I thought I had a regular K8V when I actually had a K8V deluxe. The software kept rejecting the bios until I used a different one.
